HEADLINE: Winter Storm Warning issued February 12 at 4:00PM EST until February 13 at 6:00PM EST by NWS Upton NY

This is an important message from NY Alert

DESCRIPTION:

* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches. Highest amounts away from the shoreline. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE…New York City, southern Nassau, and adjacent portions of urban northeast New Jersey.

* WHEN…From 4 AM to 6 PM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

INSTRUCTIONS: If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.

Hanno chiuso le scuole, didattica su Zoom, erano pronti per la nevicata che finalmente avrebbe davvero imbiancato New York con accumuli di circa 20 centimetri.

Ha nevicato con temperature leggermente sopra lo zero per qualche ora, poi il cielo si è schiarito.

Pur avendo sopravento le pianure gelide del Canada con dietro l’arcipelago artico che confina con la Groenlandia, riesce a fare ancora freddo, ma di neve se ne vede poca, sempre meno. Eppure ci speravano, perchè l’inverno a New York senza neve è un po’ come Miami, cioè trasportata a 1.700 km più a sud.
