poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory
area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
– Minor flooding impacts will continue, but no additional heavy
rainfall is expected.

Jersey City, Jamaica, Flatbush, Flushing, Bayonne, Hoboken,
Coney Island, Secaucus, Rockaway Beach, Todt Hill, Crown
Heights, Midtown Manhattan, RFK Bridge, Laguardia Airport,
Kennedy Airport, Huguenot, Harlem, Jackson Heights, Forest
Hills and Canarsie.
INSTRUCTIONS: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

- L’allerta dura due ore e cinquanta minuti. Preecisione assoluta.
- Le istruzioni su cosa fare se si incontra una strada allagata sono precise e dirette. Se vedi allagato e prosegui, muori. La maggior parte dei morti in situazioni alluvionali è dentro le automobili.

Il DEP department of envirnomental protection cita un “diritto a sapere” sul fatto che con la pioggia, un volume non prevedibile di acque nere, fogna, finirà nell’East River e nel Hudson. Il settanta per cento dei tombini stradali che captano l’acqua piovana di New York finisce nella rete delle acque nere. Perchè sono impianti vecchi di duecento anni e non c’è modo di cambiare. Quando piove, gli impianti di depurazione non sono in grado di trattare tutta l’acqua che arriva e dunque scaricano nei fiumi. Questo la gente lo sa bene, ma tant’è il DEP lo DEVE dire. Non fate il bagno e non bevete l’acqua dell’East River, mi raccomando.
